"green" living
i have never been overly conscious of the impact that i have on the environment or amount of waste that i contribute to landfills. but, after being inspired by many "tree hugger" friends, i had some thoughts about new products that may satisfy my need to sew and create, while also being earth-friendly.
so, on the agenda for the coming weeks will be a line of earth friendly kitchen items:
*reusable cloth dinner napkins
*reusable UNpaper towels
*reusable Swiffer mop refills
the goal for these items is to remain as earth friendly as possible, which means creating a product that looks good enough that people will actually want to use it, as well as make it sturdy enough to last for many washes to come!

Disney Autograph Books
One of the new things I am working on are Disney autograph books. You take them along on your trip to Disney and when you meet all the characters you have them sign in it. Then when you bring it home you can write in memories and add photos from the trip. I am having fun with these new books. Here are a few I did this weekend:

Treasuries Galore!!!
Recently we have had fun making treasuries and been featured in several of them as well. Take a few minutes to look around and see how many talented artists their are on Etsy. We are constantly amazed at their creativity.
I made this one, it is all about having a Twilight fun Valentine's Day:
This one features mostly PA made creations all in red:
I made this one too, I was dreaming of gold:
Another one featuring mostly PA artists with items in music and motion:
Red hot valentine, no description needed haha:
Michelle made this awesome one showing how ragged can be so elegant and beautiful:

the PERFECT bib... seriously, folks!
we have finally figured out how to create the PERFECT bib!
i get so frustrated with the puny (barely covers my kids' shirt) bibs that you can find in any chain store. they worked so poorly, that i eventually gave up and would usually just skip the bib at mealtime... ruining some of my favorite kid's outfits in the process. i searched all over for a template, design, etc that was the perfect bid and i think we have found it!!! i tweaked it a little bit to fit our needs, but alas, here it is: the PERFECT bib!!
p.s. they double as a great art smock!
this bib is made out of a standard bath hand towel so it designed to be super absorbent, as well as stand up to wash, after wash, after wash... which we know all about :) the design for this bib is limited only to the cutest, funkiest, shabbiest bath hand towel that you can find!
if you are interested in purchasing the PERFECT bid, let us know and we can talk about some of the designs we will be featuring. here is just an example of a few cute ones i saw:

Love is in the air.... VALENTINE'S DAY Creations
The sewing section of BAM has come up with a recent new addition... table place mats for Valentine's Day! These place mats are reversible and made with 100% cotton fabric: "Love Birds" on one side, simple pink on the other. They were super fun to make! BAM are officially taking orders for these place mats and we are hoping to add more place mat fabrics for both Valentine's and every day in the near future!
